What do people here think of his books?
To me he is one of the most marvelous authors ever. I'll be happy to go into detail later.

I wonder if anyone know her and similar books well. I admit they're not always very high standard, but can be rather entertaining.
Anyway, I seem to remember reading one of her earlier ones. I'd love to read it again. The title would have been "Six of Hearts", along those lines. But now I find there's nothing like that among her books. The lead character, I believe, is called Laurel. She was part of a group of girls who pretended to play around with witchcraft. At one get-together things went very wrong. Now they're around 30 years old, and someone's killing them off.
Does that sound familiar to anyone? Am I wrong about the title or the author. I really hope someone recognizes it.
Thanks.

Is it possible to be considered for an author interview? I've just had a new book, a historical novel (Bitter Shields" published on Nov. 1. It's about an unusual couple, a Spartan aristocrat and a mysterious woman from Jerusalem, and their adventures during a coup in Sparta, and then exile elsewhere in Greece and then in Jerusalem.

The Book of Samuel by Erik Raschke. A contemporary Huckleberry Finn set in a Colorado middle school as narrated by the central character, Samuel, a twelve year old boy confronted with racial tensions, divorce, loyalties to friends. The story of one boy who learns that it takes one person to have the courage to stand up, question the status quo and take action at great personal risk to himself to effect change. A great read and an ideal book for young adults.

That is interesting because our ten person book club all railed and ranted at it. Granted, the discussion was good, so I can't argue with that. Perhaps this is a love it or hate it kind of book?

We are a club of multigenerational women and we like to read the kind of books you remember!, books that can impact your life.
We recently read TWELVE STONES. And this is a memoir you can’t forget. It is an arresting story, rich with multicultural detail and daring exploration, a vivid portrayal of human and superhuman relationships. Love, drama, adventure and spiritual revelation combine to create a passionate story for the intellectually curious.

Ian Halperin, author of the sole biography of Laliberté, will be available for media questions during Laliberté’s 12-day mission Montreal, Tuesday, September 29, 2009 – On September 30, in celebration of his 50th birthday, Guy Laliberté, the billionaire founder of Cirque du Soleil, will blast off into space from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. In doing so, he will officially become Canada’s first space tourist atan estimated personal cost of $35 million. Laliberté's 12-day visit to the International Space Station is his personal “Poetic Social Mission in Space,” whose purpose is to educate people on global water issues. On October 9, while orbiting the Earth, Laliberté will host a special 2-hour “artistic happening,” entitled Moving Stars and Earth for Water, which will be broadcast from 14 cities around the world. This global spectacle is intended to raise world awareness for water conservation. The theme of the show will unfold as Laliberté reads from a specially commissioned story by renowned Canadian novelist and Man-Booker Prize-winner Yann Martel. Former U.S. Vice President Al Gore, singers Peter Gabriel and Shakira, actress Salma Hayek, Canadian astronaut Julie Payette, and musical group U2 have already announced their participation in this unprecedented global event.

When I was a very young reader (under 10) I started "Anne of Green Gables" and knew right away I did not like the book. I don't remember now why but I tried twice to read it as a youngster and both times put it down. Someone very influential must have wanted me to read that book because I picked it up again and finally enjoyed it. It may have been a bit more maturity or the influence of my mood or the mysterious advisor but I am thrilled I gave it a third try. Some books I have tried as an adult I have to say I have put down and not picked up again.

I read "Anne of Green Gables" when I was very young (66 now). I just loved it! But I never read all of the series. I read my mother's copy and it still sits on her bookshelf (she will be 92 in November!) I have three sisters and have told them all that I must have that book when the time comes. As for the rule of 50 - I really have trouble not finishing what I have started so I pour over the book sites and on-line reviews and choose very carefully what my next book will be. Rarely am I required to invoke the Rule of 50. Lucky me!!

Detective Morgan Reynolds thought her nightmare was over when serial killer Charles ‘The Slasher’ Tate was sent to prison for her husbands murder. But she was wrong. The Slasher has escaped and he’s making it even more personal this time. Tate has kidnapped her son and is giving her 72 hours to find the answers he wants or Jared dies.
From the first sentence in the first chapter I was captivated by this book and couldn’t stop reading till I was finished. Ms. Patrick has written a spine tingling , page turning novel. If you like good cleanly written mysteries, then I recommend grabbing a copy of “Journey To Redemption” and as the old saying goes ”Enjoy The Ride” because once you start you won’t want to put the book down till you are finished. Coming soon Sept 15th,2009. Please read Lynn's complete review at Books Books and More Books http://read-n-review.blogspot.com/2009/09/journey-to-redemption-by-anne-patrick.html. It’s also posted at Goodreads.
Also, on Monday, I will be guest blogging at Author Shawna Williams Blog: http://shawnawilliams-oldsmobile.blogspot.com/ about my journey to publication and I'm doing an interview at Author Diane Craver's blog: http://www.dianecraver.com/blog/. Then on Tuesday, the day of my release, I'm really going to be busy. I have an interview at Rogue Phoenix Press's blog, an interview on Author Sandra Sookoo's blog: http://sandrasookoo.wordpress.com/ and then a book release party from 5pm to 8pm on my blog: http://www.suspensebyanne.blogspot.com.
So, if you're in the neighborhood drop by and say hi. I'd love to hear from you.

Over the years many teachers have chosen to have their high school students read Boy's Life as part of their English curriculum. (Oh how I wish I had one of these teachers!) In 2006 a parent challenged a school board because they believed the book to be inappropriate. The book deals with a murder in a small town called Zephyr. Alabama but more so it is the story of a young imaginitive boy and the way he confronts a summer filled with magic, suspense, prejudice and the realizations that occur when you see that there is more to life than the safe cocoon your parents have been providing you. Robert McCammon asked to attend the school boards meeting and here is a video of his speech. He is THE COOLEST and Boy's Life should be read by everyone. :-) http://www.robertmccammon.com/articles/boys-life-censorship.html

It's called SEEDLING and is very short. It's by Jessica Janna, a 70 year old. It's her first in a 7 book series. SEEDLING is about Jessica's youngest years. In between her colorful memories, she gives tidbit of info on how to navigate peacefully through the turbulence we sometimes encounter in life. LOVELY!!!! Can't wait for the second install!
