Books I Love Beyond BeliefThis is a featured page

There are some books I love so much it hurts. These are the books in which I get wrapped up with the characters and feel as though I live within the pages, the books that I am sad to finish. Some of these are the Anne of Green Gables series by L.M. Montgomery, Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë, A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, and Nothanger Abbey by Jane Austen.

While I was pulled into all the above novels, none was it more true for than the Anne of Green Gablesseries. I cry easily during movies and due to events from my own life, but I have always found it hard to cry during books, and yet, I am sure to cry at least once during each of the books, or just thinking about some of the events. It is not that these are particularly sad books, but I become so connected to the characters on Anne's Prince Edward Island that I have no choice but to feel all their bumps and scraped along with them. These books are books I savor, and books that allow me to get away from the world and feel content, even if it's only for a little while.

since I was fifteen, I revisit Atlas Shrugged and The Fountainhead. By my thirties, I added Dorothy Dunnett's Lymond series to the list. Each time I read these books, I am just as enthralled as the first time. At 67, it is time for me to read them again. Can't wait to get started!!
