Facilitating InfoThis is a featured page

I've had some questions regarding time commitment of a facilitator.

This position is flexible; I don't imagine it would need to take up more than a few (1-3) hours per week, though you're welcome to contribute more. I will also be here to assist. Ideally, between 1-2 hours a week would be more than sufficient. Checking in a few days a week shouldn't take more than a few minutes each time. The main "work" would involve facilitating discussions of questions and topics.

Ideally, a facilitator will be able to:

--check in to the site a few times a week, just to see what's new
--help in the process of choosing a book
--help in the process of creating a reading schedule (taking a few weeks or more to read)
--come up with some questions regarding the book that you're facilitating
--facilitate conversation and respond to comments from readers

If you're interested in being a facilitator:

--share your interest by leaving a comment on this thread, sending me a message here, or e-mail me at julia.wetpaint@gmail.com
--share which genre(s) you're most interested in facilitating
--share a few book suggestions, if possible

I would be very interested in facilitating a book group. Besides being an avid reader, I worked for a couple of years in a bookstore in the Marketing and Events dept. Part of my job was assisting a wide variety of book groups. I've been away from it for a while and Yes, I miss it, a lot. My interests lie in the Romance arena. I enjoy historical, paranormal, and contemporary romance. Some of my favorite authors are Diana Gabaldon, Amanda Quick, Stephenie Laurens, Lisa Kleypas, Julia Quinn, Laurel K. Hamilton, Karen Marie Moning, Sara Donati, Nora Roberts. This list could go on and on... I would really like to know when you are planning on getting these groups up and running?

Thanks so much,
DesertNewf

Hello:

I would be interested in helping out....I belong to two book clubs and a few on-line book communities.

The list of Favorite Book Club Books has a lot of books on it that I have read with book clubs or on my own.

I would be able to help more in the summer, but can help out a little during the rest of the year.

Forgot to list my favorite books: Shadow of the Wind and The Thirteenth Tale...also The Book Thief.

So I guess I like "meaty" books and mysteries. :)

THANKS.
