Layne MaheuThis is a featured page

Maheu is a new local writer and his first novel, Song of The Crow, is a must read. On the simplest level it is the story of Noah's Ark told from the perspective of a crow named "I Am." The reader gets to journey through the heart and eyes of a crow as he grows from bald dawdling in the nest to flapping through the realm of the "beastmen" and their often-incomprehensible beliefs and behaviors, while a seemingly crazy old man builds a great boat and the waters rise. I am a truly voracious reader, mostly in the "literary" category, and I found this book absolutely enchanting! Everyone on my Christmas list will be getting a copy. I would love to hear what anyone else thinks.
