What books have made you laugh out loud?

Add your favorite giggle-inducers to this list.

.

Cheaper by the Dozen by Frank Gilbreth and Ernestine Gilbreth Carey is one of the most hilarious books ever -- read the book -- don't just see the movie

Winterdance by Gary Paulsen -- a screamingly funny book about Mr. Paulsen's escapades in preparing for and running the Iditarod. I had to stop reading it on the bus because my fellow passengers thought I was going mad.

I think High Fidelity by Nick Hornby is great!

Most of the books I have read by Christopher Moore, funny stuff!

The Sex Lives of Cannibals: Adrift in the Equatorial Pacific by J. Maarten Troost

3 of my favorites off the top of my head:

The Hippotamus by Stephen Fry

Naked by David Sedaris

Fargo Rock City by Chuck Klosterman

What are some of your favorites?

Anything by David Sedaris! I tried to read his short stories on an airplane once and started laughing so hard I was disturbing the person next to me... :-) My favorite? Me Talk Pretty One Day.

Anything by Terry Pratchett. Going Postal is my current favourite.
Big Trouble by Dave Barry

Who makes Jody laugh: John Irving, Tom Robbins, Carl Hiassen, Janet Evanovich

The Pursuit of Alice Thrift by Elinor Lipman. Jennifer Weiner's books, especially Good in Bed. And Roddy Doyle's Barrytown trilogy---the Commitments, the Snapper and the Van. The Laslo Toth letters.

Let's not forget the work of Bill Bryson. "In a Sunburned Country" sticks out in my mind the most, of all his books.

Also, Robert Fulghum has quite a lot of funny things to say in all his books. "Uh Oh" was great along with the classic "Everything I Needed to Know I Learned in Kindergarten" as well as "It Was on Fire When I Lay Down on It".
