My book club loved this one. I went to the website and got the recipe for potato peel pie. No one had the nerve to make it. (I'm not a great baker anyway, so I wasn't tempted.) I found maps showing the location of the Channel Islands, so everyone could see how much closer the islands were to France than to England. The discussion was great. Do you find this valuable?

Wonderfully written with a deceptive lightness, this novel explores the German occupation of the island of Guernsey during WWII and the redemptive powers of literature and friendship. Highly recommended. Do you find this valuable?

My book club, The Wesley Chapel G.R.I.T.S. (Girls Reading In The South) just returned from Guernsey in October. We were the winners of the "Take Your Book Club to Guernsey" Contest sponsored by Random House. With over 56,000 entries, we consider ourselves very lucky! If you go to www.BookLoversStuff.com you can read all about our trip. The island was even more beautiful that we imagined it while reading the book. To walk the street where Juliet, Dawsy, Kit and the rest walked was an experience we will never forget. Do you find this valuable?

definitely agree, it was refreshing to read such a wonderful book about the importance of friendship especially at a difficult time. Perhaps a little predictable in its ending but loved it all the same!
