Bonnie's ten books for the desert island

If I were stranded on a desert island with only 10 books to read, these are the ones I would want:

1. Tao Te Ching ~ by Lao Tzu, translated by Stephen Mitchell
2. The HarperCollins Study Bible: New Revised Standard Version
3. The Great Transformation: The Beginning of our Religious Traditions ~ by Karen Armstrong
4. The Complete Gospels ~ edited by Robert J. Miller
5. High Tide in Tucson ~ by Barbara Kingsolver
6. The Chosen ~ by Chaim Potok
7. A Prayer for Owen Meany ~ by John Irving
8. Songs of the Humpback Whale ~ by Jodi Picoult
9. Worlds in Collision ~ by Immanuel Velikovsky
10. A Short History of Nearly Everything ~ by Bill Bryson

That's the book list, and each one is a single volume. I do, however, also require a good-sized box full of yellow legal pads and another box full of pens. Fine-point Zebra pens with blue ink would be nice. Although I'm first to arrive on this deserted island, I'm sure other people with books will float ashore because I would be on a cruise with other readers, of course. Some of them will bring along those books on How to Build a Boat, How to Survive on a Desert Island, and How to Build a Strong Shelter, with bookcases of course.
