RE: Congratulations to Nancy Pearl for being named a "Woman We Love"
Nov 8 2007, 6:02 PM EST I only wish I lived near Nancy so I could perhaps know her better. We have met several times and, Nancy, you are a delight! Thanks for being such a good sport about all my photo adventures with my Nancy Pearl doll. We just got back from a trip to CA for a conference. Nancy had a blast hanging out with all the very geeky librarians that were there, at the Internet Librarian/Internet@Schools West Conference in Monterey, CA. I will be putting up pictures soon of her exploits. Do you find this valuable? |

Nancy, could you could promote AMAZON BREAKTHROUGH NOVEL CONTEST?
Mar 15 2008, 9:47 AM EDT Nancy, have you visited www.amazon.com/ABNA? It's the site for the amazing Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award contest. My name is Dwight Okita and I'm currently one of the Top 10 Finalists in the contest (out of 5,000 initial novels!). My entry is called PROSPECT OF MY ARRIVAL. It's set in the near future when the first baby will be allowed to preview the world before it chooses to be born. It's part satire of the modern world; part cautionary tale of science without borders; part love letter to the lovely and lost inhabitants of Earth. (You can read the first 10-50 pages of my novel at amazon.com/abna! Then review it.) I just read about you and Book Lust and it would be wonderful if you could promote to your readers this contest. This is the first time that Penguin (a major American publisher) will allow the reading and voting public a chance to tell it which novel to publish next! Thanks for your love and support of books.
